Questions We Get From Operators

What is a sports prediction market and how does it work?

A sports prediction market lets people buy and sell YES or NO shares in a sporting outcome at a price between 1¢ and 99¢. That price is the market’s live probability: a market trading at 58¢ means the crowd puts the outcome at roughly 58%. When the event settles, the winning side is worth 100¢ and the losing side nothing.

How is a prediction market different from a sportsbook?

A sportsbook takes the other side of every bet and earns the margin built into its odds. On a prediction market traders trade with each other, the price comes from that order flow, and the operator earns a fee on volume instead of carrying the risk of every position.

What is a CLOB and what is an AMM in a prediction market?

A CLOB, or central limit order book, matches trader bids and asks against each other, so the price is set entirely by the people trading. An AMM, or automated market maker, uses a pricing curve to quote both sides continuously, so there is always a price on screen even when no one else is trading.

Can a sports prediction market run both an order book and an AMM?

Yes. Our platform runs CLOB, AMM or a hybrid where the order book leads and the AMM quotes behind it, and the choice is made per market type rather than once for the whole platform. The hybrid is how most books run: real price discovery where volume exists, and a quote on everything else.

How does liquidity work when a market first opens?

On a pure order book, liquidity depends on traders showing up. With the AMM or hybrid model the market maker quotes from the first second, inside the spread, depth and skew limits you set, so a brand new market is tradeable immediately.

Where do the markets on a prediction market platform come from?

Four engines: your own trading desk typing markets manually, markets imported from other venues under your rules, the sports data and odds feeds you already license, and SportIQ, our AI sports market engine that writes, prices and resolves markets on its own.

Do we need Sportradar or Genius Sports data to launch?

You can plug in the feeds you already license from Sportradar, Genius Sports, Opta or your own provider, and each event type maps onto a market template that opens and settles the market. If you have no feed of your own, SportIQ can run on our data instead.

How are sports prediction markets resolved and settled?

Automatically. Two independent sources are read against the exact wording of the question, and the market settles with the evidence attached. Anything where the sources disagree, or the wording no longer fits, is held for your desk instead of being guessed.

How does an operator make money on a prediction market?

Revenue comes from trading activity rather than from beating the customer: typically fees on volume and on settlement, plus spread capture where you run the AMM. Because you are not taking the other side of every bet, exposure is bounded by the limits you configure.

Can we launch a prediction market under our own brand?

Yes. The trading experience is white-label and connects to your stack through APIs, SSO and your wallet, so it can look like a Kalshi-style board, a Polymarket-style board, or something entirely your own.

What does the operator desk still control if everything is automated?

Creation rules, risk and exposure limits, spreads, suspension, manual markets and resolution overrides. Generation, pricing and settlement run on their own until you choose to step in.

Which sports can prediction markets cover?

Any sport with a followed schedule and a reliable data source: football, basketball, cricket, tennis, American football, baseball, hockey, motorsport, MMA, golf and esports among others. New sports are onboarded by adding their entities, market templates and resolution rules.

What kinds of sports markets can we offer?
