Web 2.0 Application Development: ClinicYou

ClinicYou is an advanced web based medical practice system that enables clinicians and patients to collaborate on patient medical records, anywhere, any time in real time, whilst also providing the tools to run the practice. Masterminded and led by ClinicYou Founder Dr Ken Laji, a Consultant Physician and Endocrinologist based in the UK, ClinicYou is a high-end large scale development.

Dr Laji has for two decades been an active force in healthcare IT systems in the UK. ClinicYou is his blueprint for a patient focused approach to healthcare.


Why ClinicYou chose Vinfotech
Dr Laji explains, “We needed agile developers to respond fast and innovate around an idea. Vinfotech impressed us with their Web 2.0 expertise, Ajax skills and ability to build complex databases. Their experience in social media applications meant they understood our concept of collaboration around patient records.

The development process
The application was built in eighteen months. Akshay and project manager Chaula worked closely with the ClinicYou team, who provided Vinfotech with detailed briefings, design visuals and tailored training on clinical coding and the healthcare industry.


Vinfotech delivered on a complex project
ClinicYou is a custom Web 2.0 application centred on a unified electronic patient record with permissions-based access. Clinical teams can create virtual networks to collaborate on patient care. ClinicYou supports the internationally recognised SNOMED clinical coding system for the exchange of medical data.

Practice management tools include online invoicing, appointment scheduling, communications tools, voice dictation and a customisable web page for clinicians to promote their practice. A dedicated patient portal allows patients access to their own record and to search for services and clinicians.

Vinfotech was further engaged to build the ClinicYou website to ClinicYou's design to promote the new application.

Result
The application is now being deployed on a subscription basis for use by healthcare professionals in private practice in the UK and beyond.
