"Being a designer myself, I was looking for a company that would put design first and yet do awesome development. Vinfotech fit into that need perfectly. I would recommend this team to anyone who has a long-term vision to build a solution that can change the world."

"Banana Bandy has a rich pool of talent that one can source from. I took the help of Banana Bandy for a project and I got to see good options of artists who could help me deliver the project. They were prompt and understood my requirements perfectly so I could quickly get someone on board to kick start my project. So thanks to Banana Bandy!"

The Journey of Banana Bandy

India has an incorrect image that it is not a country for creative professionals. Yet, the creative market of professionals is sized $1 billion. A young design professional Kavan Antani, Co-founder and CEO of Banana Bandy, wished to organize this market.

Kavan Antani asked Vinfotech

How can we get the best of Linked-in, Behance and Elance on a niche social network?

As we set off to answer this question, we engaged with the end-users in the beginning in order to pour the user-empathy magic into our work. After a two-day workshop with team Banana Bandy and our own market study, we understood individual requirements, user journeys and core components of the business. Based on these, we created stories needed for the development of MVP. These user stories helped us clearly draft Design Strategy, Profiles & Personas, Scenarios, Task Flows and Information Architecture.

Client's challenges & our solutions
  • There’s no specific/niche platform to showcase Indian talent as well as harness jobs in creative fields.

  • Let’s create a stand-alone design-intensive application that would showcase talent in a visually appealing manner.

  • Web app developers don’t understand this need and create mechanical wireframes.

  • We decided giving a distinct personality to the look and feel of the app and greater device accessibility through responsive design.

  • We want a team that would understand the needs of the users and infuse a cultural understanding into the application.

  • Our team of design thinkers didn’t have a problem getting into the shoes of creative professionals.

  • We have to raise funds real fast, so it should be built and delivered fast.

  • We will deliver it in weeks.

How did we do it?

Vinfotech helped plan, design and develop a community where creative users showcase their work, like and share projects, and follow other creative professionals, and a marketplace, where companies can appoint creative professionals based on their portfolios.

Kickstart

Market Research

Studied Indian creative industry and explored ways to turn Banana Bandy better than competition.

Engaging with Users

Created samples of varied creative professionals like Graphic Designers, Architects, Illustrators, Fashion Designers, Animators and Craftsmen. By observing and talking to these professionals, we gathered unanticipated insights on their ways of doing, sharing and seeking work.

Business Assessment Document

Consolidated findings of entire market research and engagement with creative professionals into a document.

Creative Development Workshop

Professionals from marketing, sales, design, technology and operations participated from our end with team Banana Bandy.

Discussions led to creating user profiles, personas and scenarios, which drastically propelled clarity of work.

Wire-framing

We follow Design-Thinking methodology to Wireframing and quickly presented 7-8 wireframes. Team Banana Bandy was free to mix- match-add-delete-combine so to arrive at a perfect wireframe.

User Interface Design

We moved back and forth between our designers and team Banana Bandy to accommodate all that was important to conclude on one perfect design. We involved a few artists to test final designs to check on its appropriateness, ease of use and overall appeal.

Front-end Development

A working prototype without database was prepared to give the feel of a working model, to check on the application flow.

Development

We developed an entire community marketplace to come to what it is today.

Testing

Tested the product first internally. Launched the beta version for users to test. Incorporated users’ feedback and launched the next version.
