Lee and Emma Fisher came up with this unique idea to us and we started brainstorming on it from day one. The mission statement “Yoobug is an online community focusing on IT security” was kept in mind throughout the development and design process.

The website fosters communication of views, news, research and concerns that people have related to IT security. For example if there is any virus/malware/spyware outbreak, Yoobug will be among the top sites on the web to notify it first. This online IT security community wants everyone to know how important security is for the users hence it provides articles, pictures, information, embedded YouTube videos and links to let users share or to look for an answer to their queries. You can create groups or be a part of one. Innovators, contributors or followers – everyone has something to gain or share. Another feature is the integration of Twitter and RSS feeds on the websites status update page – users page gets updated with Twitter posts automatically. Users can also post articles out of live RSS feeds and also share content on other social media and social bookmarking sites using “Share This”.
Tools used
Yoobug is a Web 2.0 based website integrating IT security, blogging and video blogging. ASP.net 3.5, SQL 2005, AJAX, Fireworks, Dreamweaver and ADOBE Photoshop were the chief tools used to create the website. SSL was also used for enhanced security of the site.
