This is a small glimpse of how far we have come in E-commerce. It has changed the idea of buying. A simple concept, “Pay money, pick material”, has been simplified to “click to see, click to buy, click to pay”. Just that. No more hours of walking around aimlessly, trying to find the product, trying to haggle for a good deal. Sit back, relax, get a cup of coffee and let the shopping begin!

Now lets take it a little further. We got online shopping? Great. Can do it from a couch? Great. No need to worry about missing your favorite episodes, brilliant! So what now? Where do we go from here?

How about social networking? As they say, “you got it, you flaunt it”, right? So why not? Lets share with the world what we are buying. Flaunt the choice, exhibit your taste, let the world know you are a connoisseur who prefers the best.

That, is what we thought of when we got the projects where we were responsible for designing a great e-commerce web and app design. Shopping and providing a great user experience on an online portal is lovely. It is the foundation of a good e-commerce business model. But it ain’t enough.

Lenskart

Lenskart is the India’s most popular online eyewear retailer. Naturally, a design based on a business model that provided its users/customers with a selection of style was required to go further than just listing the products and prices and giving it all a pretty theme.

The Lenskart UI Design that has won acclaim in the heart of both, the entrepreneurs and customers nationwide, is a result of one simple question.  “How to make it better?”

And thus we added several unique techniques into our quiver before tackling the issues. Responsive web design, a refreshing color palette, a great search functionality, perfectly seamless interface choreography across every possible device...and...the ability to connect your social network with Lenskart. Lenskart is one of our proudest projects (well, we’re actually pretty proud of all our work). It is a beautifully designed, perfectly calibrated E-commerce user interface that is as smooth as your choice in style!

CBuy

CBuy is the penultimate style portal. A perfect combination of fashion, online retail and social networking. CBuy is a fashion online shopping portal where you can see what your favorite celebrities are wearing and buy those fashion apparels and accessories.

Working closely with CBuy team, Vinfotech made sure to focus on the fashion appeal and the target niche on which CBuy’s business premise was based. The user interface was equipped with LazyLoad and Percentage base slider that allowed the key aspect of the website, the images, to gain prominence and engage user attention with minimal distraction.

We kept a close understanding of the business idea and the logic behind it during the design process. CBuy is all about showcasing and presenting yourself with the choicest of apparel that leading men and women of the world adorn themselves with. The image factor of the end user was given prominence to be shared, circulated and be proud of.

The above two are just an example of how e-commerce has taken a new path now. It isn’t just about simple click and buy  model. People like to express their individuality. And the user experience must factor that psychology in its designs.
